The first thing I do when I take on project is schedule an information gathering meeting.

I am interested not only in scheduling, budgeting and job specifications, but also in preferences, targeting audience's, and objectives. And, of course, I will want to know all the user features and benefits of the product and/or services. It will help you sharpen your focus and objectives, and it will help me ensure that what I produce is not only creatively excellent, but strategically targeted.
